A PhD scholarship is available as part of the larger project “Aëtiana: laying foundations for the study of the history of ancient philosophy” funded by the ARC and being carried out by D. T. Runia (Melbourne), J. Mansfeld (Utrecht) and O. Primavesi (Munich). The PhD project will focus on the language of doxographical texts that record the philosophical views of early Greek philosophers, with a particular focus on the compendium of Aëtius. Prerequisites: an honours degree or a master’s degree in Classics, a thorough knowledge of Ancient Greek and an interest in Greek philosophy.
