ISRO/ASI Sponsors Students to participate in 60th IAC at Daejeon, Korea
Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Department of Space (DOS), Govt. of India jointly with Astronautical Society of India (ASI), intends to sponsor a few students to participate in 60th International Astronautical Congress (60th IAC) to be held in Daejeon, Korea during October 12-14, 2009. This annual global space event is organized by International Astronautical Federation (IAF) and Korean Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) with a theme “Space for Sustainable Peace and Progress”.
Students meeting the following two major criteria (both) are eligible for consideration of this sponsorship:
(i) Whose paper (as first author) is accepted for presentation in the 60th IAC.
(ii) Who has not been sponsored by ISRO/ASI for this purpose on earlier occasions.
The sponsorship includes to and fro excursion fare air ticket, shared accommodation and living expenses (a maximum of 150$ per day towards accommodation, living expenses and other incidental expenses). The sponsorship does not include expenditure pertaining to obtaining passport, visa and medical insurance.
Eligible students may submit the application in Format C enclosed for consideration. The filled-up application with necessary enclosures must reach Scientific Secretary, ISRO Headquarters, Antariksha Bhawan, New BEL Road, Bangalore – 560094 email: scientificsecretary@isro.gov.in; Fax: 080 – 2341 5298 by post/ email/ fax before 1700 hrs on August 12, 2009 (Wednesday).
The selected students will be individually intimated by email.
