Peter Cullen Postgraduate Scholarship, Australia

The NSW Government has developed a postgraduate scholarship in honour of the late Professor Peter Cullen AO FTSE. Professor Cullen contributed significantly to water resource management in Australia, and NSW. The program is jointly funded by various New South Wales Government Water Agencies, including the Department of Water and Energy, Sydney Catchment Authority, State Water, Hunter Water Corporation and Sydney Water Corporation. The aim of the scholarship is to: • Improve our understanding of how rivers, groundwater, wetlands and estuaries function and respond to enhanced management • Improve the linkages between water science and water management in NSW • Provide research opportunities for water specialists in NSW. The Scholarship is open to a first year PhD student enrolled at Australian University.

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES, CHEMICAL SCIENCES, EARTH SCIENCES, ECONOMICS, INFORMATION, COMPUTING AND COMMUNICATION SCIENCES, MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES, PHYSICAL SCIENCES, SCIENCE - GENERAL or SOCIAL SCIENCES, HUMANITIES AND ARTS - GENERAL.
Eligibility

This scholarship is for study in Australia. Only citizens of Australia or permanent residents can apply.

Applications for the 2010 scholarship will:
open 1 August 2009, and
close 28 August 2009.
