Researcher/Senior Researcher in Radiation Dosimetry, DTU, Denmark

The Radiation Research Division at Risø National Laboratory for Sustainable Energy, Technical University of Denmark, is seeking candidates for a Researcher/Senior Researcher position for its Radiation Physics Programme to work in the field of radiation dosimetry.

Job Description: The Radiation Physics Programme is carrying out fundamental and applied research within the areas of retrospective radiation dosimetry, medical and industrial dosimetry, and reactor physics. The programme presently consists of 25 people including researchers, technicians and PhD students, engaged in research, innovation and education.

Job description
The successful candidate will join the medical/industrial dosimetry group and is expected to perform research in high dose dosimetry aimed at developing dosimetry methods for industrial applications of radiation. The candidate will also participate in supervision of PhD or Master Students.

In addition, the candidate will be involved in customer-oriented activities within the scope of the accredited Risø High Dose Reference Laboratory (HDRL), e.g. validation of low-energy electron accelerators. Risø HDRL services the radiation processing industry in Denmark and abroad, and in particular the medical device industry that sterilizes products using radiation.

Qualifications
The candidate should have a PhD in Physics/Chemistry or similar with a background in radiation physics. Candidates for a Senior Researcher position must further have experience at least as Assistant Professor/Researcher/Postdoc or similar qualifications.

  • scientific production and research potential at international level
  • innovative skills and the ability to generate new ideas
  • the ability to communicate at all levels such as the provision of scientific advice to public sector authorities
  • the ability to promote and utilize research results
  • an all-round experience basis, preferably including international experience
  • the ability to contribute to development of the department’s internal and external cooperation

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union. The place of work is Risø DTU in Roskilde.
