The Hebrew University Of Jerusalem/China Scholarship Council Joint Scholarship Scheme offers Post-Doctorate Research

The Hebrew University Of Jerusalem / China Scholarship Council Joint Scholarship Scheme offers high quality post-doctorate level research training at the Robert H. Smith Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment, to selected Ph.D. graduates from Chinese Institutions, for a period of 12 months.

The Robert H. Smith Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment is the only institute of higher education in Israel offering university degrees in agriculture and is also home to the only Schools of Nutritional Sciences and of Veterinary Medicine. Established in 1942 as the Institute for Agricultural Sciences with 21 students, the Faculty today has a student body of 2,300 students. The Faculty offers academic programs leading to B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Agriculture, B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Nutrition, and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. The Faculty also offers through its Division for External Studies international short-term postgraduate courses on various agricultural subjects, and a Masters of Science in Agriculture degree program and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Plant Sciences, all of which are conducted in English for foreign students. Criteria:

  • Candidates must be citizens and permanent residents of the People’s Republic of China at the time of application; Candidates must be citizens and permanent residents of the People’s Republic of China at the time of application;

  • Selected candidates will receive a letter of invitation from HU, candidates must also apply to CSC for funding by completing an application for funding and employer reference (forms are available online at http://apply.csc.edu.cn). A hard copy of the signed CSC Application Form along the completed CSC Employer Reference Form, a copy of the full application to HU(including other supporting documents such as communications with the supervisor), and a copy of the letter of invitation from HU must be submitted to CSC through CSC’s a application agencies by March 20 th ,2011. Selected candidates will receive a letter of invitation from HU, candidates must also apply to CSC for funding by completing an application for funding and employer reference (forms are available online at http://apply.csc.edu.cn).
