Description : A PhD position is available for highly motivated candidates at the Nano-Energy Laboratory of the Catalan Energy Research Institut (IREC). The selected candidate will develop a project involving the synthesis, characterization and manipulation of colloidal nanostructures and their assembly into superlattices for applications in the fields of photovoltaic and thermoelectric energy. The specific candidate project will depend on his/her background, abilities and research interests. PhD position in Spain in systems/mathematics

I am seeking a PhD student to do research on quasi-static analysis and hysteresis systems at the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya, Barcelona. A typical profile is an electrical (or mechanical) engineer or a holder of a bachelor in mathematics. This is a basic research so that a good mastery of mathematics (proofs) is desirable. The degree should have been obtained after 1/1/2007 with a GPA of all university years of at least 4/5. The fellowship is of about 1000 euros a month, and additionally there is the possibility of a stay of up to six month in a university outside Spain during the four years of PhD studies.
